Want to know what other family vacationers enjoyed when visiting Las Vegas? Our traveler review section covers tried and true family-friendly recommendations for attractions, shopping and food.
Family-Friendly Las Vegas Attractions
There are two family-friendly Las Vegas attractions that have been drawing crowds for decades, and both of them are free! The Freemont Street Experience in old Las Vegas features a large overhead digital show plus some of the cities oldest casinos. At the other end of town, the Circus Circus Midway on the Strip offers dozens of carnival-style games, fun house mirrors, an arcade and hourly circus acts. Speaking of circuses, if you want the whole family to enjoy one of Las Vegas' best stage shows, then try one of the many Cirque du Soleil performances; family members of all ages repeatedly recommend these bizarre Big Top extravaganzas.
Family-Friendly Las Vegas Shopping
If you want a family shopping experience that offers something for everyone, then the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace consistently receive the highest ratings. Not only do you have two floors of some of the world's most memorable stores, but the center also features free hourly shows, a 3D ride, fountains, and ample photo ops. The Desert Passage at the Aladdin comes in a close second; children love the bazaar theme which includes a cobbled walkway, street performers and an hourly rain storm. For a quicker shopping trip, try the multi-level World of Coca-Cola and M&M stores located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip (as an added bonus, they're right next door to GameWorks).
Las Vegas' many upscale eateries may get most of the press, but the city actually offers ample food choices for families. For example, family-friendly food vendors line the walkways of all the major hotels on the Strip. If you're willing to go the extra mile (and spend a little more) the Rainforest Cafe at the MGM Grand and the Planet Hollywood in the Forum Shops are both designed with kids in mind. Also, there's something for everyone at the city's many themed buffets, most of which offer special pricing for children.
